It’s like we’ve collectively decided to date someone we know is a compulsive liar.

I’ve been testing AI toolkits for years now, and this paradox fascinates me. According to recent data from Pew Research Center and Brookings, AI adoption is surging across demographics. People are using ChatGPT to draft emails, Midjourney to create images, and various AI assistants documents. But ask those same users if they trust what these tools produce, and you’ll get a lot of nervous laughter and qualified answers.

The Trust Gap Widens

For now, keep using AI tools where they help, but keep your verification hat on. And if you’re choosing between toolkits, pick the ones that make verification easier, not the ones that discourage it. The best AI tools are the ones that know they’re not perfect.
